Momentum in Quiltcon magazine
Last fall, I had a lot of secret sewing to do. One of those projects was a new design, Momentum, which I am proud to say is one of the quilts in the Quiltcon magazine, a special issue of Modern PatchworkIt was inspired by this photo that I took at MoMA when I went there in August. I was feeling a little stuck creatively, and I found inspiration in the architecture of the building of all places.
The pattern is included in the issue. It uses large-scale piecing and comes together quickly for a simple design with big impact. I used Cirrus solids in Limestone, Rain, and Ash. They are so soft and at 72″ x 72″, it is ready for maximum coziness.
I can’t wait to show you the whole quilt. Here’s just a peek:
The magazine is available now as a digital download here, and will be available at Quiltcon in Pasadena February 18 and in stores on March 1. The quilt will be hanging in the show in great company. The quilts in the magazine are just a small sample of the quilts in the show, and it’s a gorgeous issue.
Can’t wait to see the full thing! Wahoo!!
Huge congrats, love your inspiration!
Oh awesome! I can’t wait to get the magazine!
I can’t wait to see the full quilt and get the magazine. This is making it sooo hard to hold out on buying the digital copy! 🙂
Congratulations! I hope you’ll post a picture when the magazine comes out? We don’t get that print mag over here and i don’t like digital magazines
You are a rock star!
