Blog keeping
It’s like housekeeping, but for your blog.
I’ve been doing my best to keep up with the blog during this amazing and amazingly busy month (travel! classes! quilt finishes!). But there are a few straggling announcements that need mentioning, so I am lumping them into one post.
First, the most urgent one. Rock Paper Scissors is giving away a kit including ALL the fabric needed to make my East West quilt (free pattern here) featuring Koi from Cloud9 Fabrics. The drawing is tomorrow, so if you haven’t already, enter to win! What are you waiting for?
Next, the most surreal one. Back in August, Beth from Rock Paper Scissors and I shot some quilting how-to videos for About.com. It was a lot of fun to do, but I am not used to watching myself at all. If you’d like to see me demonstrate how to sew a quarter inch seam allowance, check out my video here. Beth did two of her own, How to Make Half Square Triangles and How to Make Quarter Square Triangles. We were both laughing about how serious we seem– we don’t really teach like that at all. It’s not easy to teach a camera.
As weird as it was, it was so cool to see this on my computer screen:
Lastly, a really cool development. Rock Paper Scissors is selling kits for the East West quilt (just in case you don’t win the giveaway) and the Technicolor quilt on Etsy! Check them out, along with the patterns, available in the menu tab at the top of this page.
Thanks for visiting! Next up, a recap of my too-short trip to San Francisco, along with some new fabric I picked up there. You know I just had to get some souvenirs.
But first, it’s quilt guild meeting night tonight! We just launched a new website, and we’re working on a lot of fun activities. I’ll do my best to keep up here.
