Hello! Welcome to the second installment of Peek Wednesdays, a mini blog hop in support of my Peek Pattern, now for sale on Etsy. Last week’s introduction can be found here.
Before I get started, this is a reminder that the Peek pattern giveaway from Karin over at Leigh Laurel Studios is still going until Friday! Her Halloween pillows are just the best seasonal project I’ve seen this year (though, as the pattern designer I am biased, of course).
Have you been on the Periscope app yet? I dipped my toes in last week and watched a Periscope hop from the #honestcraftroomies, a group of talented quilters and bloggers who get together to talk about a topic on Tuesday nights. Each person does a ten-minute ‘Scope, a live video feed from their phone’s camera, and those watching can comment and send hearts (like IG “likes”) in real time.
Anyway, last night I was listening to the hop while I was frantically quilting my latest project (I do not recommend this– Periscope is a visual experience), and I heard my name! Stephanie from Late Night Quilter gave a peek (I know!) of her Peek project for today. I hope you’ll go over to her blog to see it. Rather hilariously, I wasn’t able to comment because of security features on Periscope, so I was just jumping around my sewing space while the commenters talked about me. It was a surreal and really fun experience.
This is a very long way to say that Stephanie’s blog is the next stop on the Peek hop! Wait until you see her super sweet take on the pattern. Stephanie also has a giveaway! Also, she’s still taking pre-orders on the super useful and utterly gorgeous Quilter’s Planner, so grab one now for yourself or the quilter in your life.
I had hoped that this mini hop would demonstrate how each person can really change the entire feeling of a pattern with their own choices, and both Stephanie and Karin have totally exceeded every expectation I had.
You too can join in on Peek Wednesdays on social media. Just hashtag #peekblock and #peekquilt, or check the tags to see what others have made. My NJMQG friend Tracy (@traylas) posted this beauty last week:
Next week I will be in London (!) celebrating our tenth anniversary with my husband, but I have a special treat scheduled to post.
Periscope can be a pretty surreal platform! I was wondering if you were hearing what had happened, too funny. 🙂
london = liberty! have the best time.
