Weekend sewing
This weekend I sewed up a part of a block for the Skillbuilder BOM I’m participating in at Pile O Fabric. It was so satisfying to practice precision and the blocks are adorable– just 3.5″ after trimming.
I’m several months behind, but enjoying the process very much, so I’m hoping to make more of these blocks soon.
For Mother’s Day I asked for just a few hours to sew in the morning, and I made some serious progress on my husband’s quilt (for which I made a panel for his birthday back in February and some flying geese at Sewdown). I made some black and white angles that are growing very quickly. Hopefully I’ll have some serious progress on this project in the next month.
This coming week will bring more sewing, a little teaching (walking foot quilting on Wednesday! call Rock Paper Scissors if you’re interested!) and vacation prep (oh yeah). Stay tuned.
Lovely graphic black and white prints! Lucky husband!
Those are great projects! I love the purple asterisks!
It looks like you nailed the precision assignment – the asterisks look fantastic! And lucky husband, that is going to be a dressy quilt when it is done!
I battled with the Mother’s Day quilting request. I really wannnnnted to just ask for some time to quilt, but also felt like I should spend time with my family since it was Mother’s Day and they are the ones who made me a mother 🙂 Maybe next year, I’ll suck it up and just ask for a sewing day–or even just a sewing morning!!
I also love your husband’s quilt. I’m ALL about black and white prints these days, and yours is going to be so cool!
Thanks Kitty! I hear you about Mother’s Day guilt. I just asked for a few hours and made sure to spend time with the kiddos as well.
Thank you so much! Black and white = formal wear after all!
Thanks Renee! I definitely want to work them into another quilt.
Thanks Kate! I’m in that phase now where I’m just hoping it all works out and comes together. Can’t wait to finish it.
