Fabric love
(NOTE: I wrote this post while exhausted. I have not edited, so please forgive the atrocious writing.)
Not only did my husband come home from Tokyo on Friday night, but he brought fabric! I knew to get excited when I saw the adorable bag they came home in.
I cannot express how much it meant to me that he went into a fabric store in Japan and picked up five different prints for my stash. He said he got a yard of each because the prices were so cheap, but also because the language barrier made it easier just to hold up one finger.
First up, some lovely basics:
Next, PANDAS!
My personal favorite, blue and purple floral-like leaves:
This next one feels like it’s canvas weight (I’m thinking maybe my first bag):
Not too bad for a non-quilter, eh? It’s just so thoughtful and special and fun to have these. I fell in love all over again.
THEN, I got another great surprise. A bundle of texty prints that I ordered last week arrived!
This is just a bonus for a quilting week that I’m looking forward to so much. Tomorrow I get to hang with a lovely group of ladies (I’m going to work on some flags for To Boston with Love) and Monday we start Beginning Quilting class! I’m so excited to meet my students. Just after I’m done staring at my new fabric.
ETA: OMG! I forgot to include a picture of the adorable bag from the fabric store in Tokyo. I don’t knit, or else I would make it my avatar permanently. But seriously, how awesome is this goat ram?
these are awesome. great work, J!
Oh that is one great hubby! I understand your happiness! Xxoo
Melaine I had a great surprise when Joe told me that you gave quilt classes and shared with me your blog.
I started my quilt classes last year and I feel in love with this technique and in my spare time I’ve created some quilt job.
I went into a fabric store in Japan and picked up some different prints for my next project. Yuzawaya had a huge number of prints, but I didn’t time enough to find for more prints.
I hope keep in touch to know more about your projects.
So nice to “meet” you Elaine! Thanks for stopping by. I love that I now know a quilter in Brazil!
