Color therapy
With so much bad news in the world, it’s hard to write about quilting. But these are the things that help us move on from tragedy, that help raise spirits with beauty and accomplishment. It’s times like these that our souls need quilting (or something like it if that’s your thing) to create something that may comfort another human being. (Of course, activism, community service and practicing kindness in everyday interactions are always options too.)
It’s helped me to surround myself with color and thoughts of quilt recipients as I sit down at my machine this week.
I got to cut into this beautiful stack for a baby quilt:
And started quilting this, after the top spent a few months chillin’ at Rock Paper Scissors:
