Two new baby quilts
Since my last post, I’ve been busy making a few commissions from my lovely grandmother, who turned 85 in March. She usually knits baby blankets, but her arthritis has been a problem and when she saw that I was quilting, she asked if I would make a few(!) for some upcoming baby showers.
The first was for my second cousin’s second baby. I found these adorable prints with monsters playing and did a repeat of the Intersection pattern with some scraps from my stash.
My favorite part of the quilt is that the monsters are sleeping on the back. (And Joe’s legs–he’s my quilt-holder for vertical shots)
The second quilt was for another second cousin’s wife, and I went with more nature-themed fabric. I tried to make the white appear like a maze, but I’m not sure how successful it was. I think if the prints had been a bit bolder it would have been more obvious. But I like the peacock blue and lime green colors.
Both of these are charming! Reminds me that I have a couple of baby quilts to make, myself.
