Hello August

Inhale. Exhale.

I did it. Survived July by the skin of my teeth. Sanity-wise. (I’m an introvert. I love my friends, social situations and meeting new people, but I need alone time to recharge, and without recharge time, I tend to get overwhelmed.)

Two beautiful out-of-town weddings, six states, three movies, one uber heat wave with no AC, the Bronx Zoo, the Newark Bears, fireworks, DUMBO, summer league ultimate frisbee, cocksackie disease, a head cold, the town pool, mini golf, potty training. Talk about highs and lows. And that was the non-quilting stuff.

Four Beginning Quilting classes, one Free Motion Quilting class, my first NJMQG meeting as president, a field trip to Cloud9, one pigeon finish and one almost there.

I just have to bind it today and then we move into the final phase of summer. (This pic was taken before I finished quilting. Full finish post to come very soon.)

On the personal front, that means camp for the kids and a much more relaxed social schedule.

On the quilt guild front, we’re working toward becoming an official chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild, which means paperwork and legalese and scheduling.

And as for my quilting, I have some game-changing opportunities on the horizon. Luckily, August has given me time to accept them and I can’t wait to focus and give them my best go.

August, we just met. I think I love you.
