Graduation
Last night was the fourth and final class of the Beginning Quilting series that I taught at Rock Paper Scissors, and it was so exciting to watch everyone’s quilts come close to completion. Everyone attached the binding to their quilts, and while most of the class is hand stitching the back, we also went over techniques for machine binding (because, realistically, sometimes you just need to get something done).
Janita machine bound and finished her gorgeous quilt, a gift for a friend’s new baby:
Kiala’s binding, on a quilt for a baby due in July, adds a really great frame to her patchwork:
Ashley‘s uses solids and a single print, sometimes with fussy cuts, for a gorgeous jewel-tone palette. I think she likes it.
I didn’t get shots with Lorraine or Cary, but their quilts were also beautiful and so cheerful. Thank you to my lovely students. I’ll miss you next Monday. Enjoy your quilts.
Melanie! I had so much fun taking your class and it helped so much seeing everything first hand. I can’t wait to finish some of my tops finally thanks to you. Thanks for an awesome class! This will always be a special quilt!
I’m so glad you had fun. You have the quilt bug. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
