Free motion fun

I was so nervous before yesterday’s class, my first time teaching. It was a workshop for members of the Newbees group to try out a curriculum for free motion quilting, something that I love, but I hadn’t taught anything in a long time. It turns out I didn’t have anything to worry about.

I had a fabulous group of students. They were just the right mix of experience and personalities. There was everyone from an enthusiastic beginner to someone who had taken free motion classes before to someone who had some success on a previous quilt. They had fantastic suggestions for moving forward with the class, which will be offered officially in May.

It really does help to love what you teach. You just want to help everyone find the joy in it that you do. In fact, I wished that I could join in during class (and a student requested that I demonstrate in future classes). When I got home I wanted to quilt so badly that I made some samples.

Thank you to all my students and Beth for her support. I can’t wait to do it again!
