The Canadian quilt
A friend came to me with a map-print fabric for a nephew due in May, asking for me to work it into a quilt. The parents-to-be live near Toronto, and I thought it was hilariously stereotypical that the map fabric included maple leaves and moose. I tried to add some irony with a wood grain fabric and some baby softness with a seersucker stripe. To brighten things up and add a little fun, I bound and backed it with a red and white wonky polka dot. The new auntie tells me that it will go on a camping trip in June. Enjoy, eh?
